The 2021 Honda Pilot Special Edition is making its grand debut this summer ahead of the 2021 model year.

Also known as the SE trim, the newest option bundles popular amenities drivers love and includes a 9-speed transmission for the ultimate driving experience in an SUV.

Features like a power tailgate, 20-inch Gloss Black wheels, roof rails and more, the Pilot Special Edition is a beam of light in an otherwise dreary year.

Top Features of the 2021 Honda Pilot SE

Using the popular mid-range EX-L trim level as a starting point, the new Pilot Special Edition adds 20-inch wheels with a black finish, front and rear skid garnishes, foot-activated power tailgate, and a wireless phone charger.

Until now, these features were reserved for the exclusive top trim levels.

Additional amenities in the new trim level include second-row sunshades, black grille, leather seats, and two-position memory settings.

Drivers have the option of all-wheel-drive and two-wheel-drive powertrains.

Color options include Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Steel Sapphire Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.

2021 Honda Pilot SE Performance

Under the hood of the new Honda Pilot, drivers will find the V-6 EarthDreams® engine that produces 280 horsepower for the AWD and 2WD options.

That’s enough power to make even the longest drives feel like a dream-filled adventure.

Traveling from Point A to Point B in an SUV has never felt more exhilarating thanks to the 9-speed automatic transmission.

The 280 horsepower in both models is matched with 6,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 262 pounds of torque at 4,700 rpm.

The intelligent Variable Torque Management (i-VTMA™) AWD System dynamically adjusts the power delivered to the wheels providing superior stability on and off-road.

And drivers can spend more time enjoying the open road thanks to the 20-inch black wheels and black roof rack, making the SUV ready for any adventure.

Drivers opting for the AWD option will experience 5,000 pounds of towing capacity while the 2WD model offers 3,500 pounds of towing capacity.

All of that power doesn’t mean more cash at the pump.

The new 2WD Honda Pilot SE offers a city fuel economy of 20 mpg, a highway fuel economy of 27 mpg, and a combined fuel economy of 23 mpg.

The AWD model offers a city fuel economy of 19 mpg, 26 mpg highway, and a combined fuel economy of 22 mpg.
