Honda Adds Two New Pioneer 1000s
Earlier in the month, Honda reported it would be adding two brand-new full-size side-by-side models, the 2016 Pioneer 1000 and the 2016 Pioneer 1000-5. Both come with a 6-speed fully automatic Dual Clutch Transmission and a wide variety of different features that look to heighten the standard for performance and power, during both work and play.
“We’re very excited about the all-new 999cc engine we’ve developed for these new Pioneers,” said Lee Edmunds, Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Communications at American Honda. “We’ve also added the industry’s only fully automatic mechanical transmission—the 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. With steel gears, the DCT offers true engine braking, seamless shifting and a smooth, reliable transfer of power.”
Powered by an inline, twin-cylinder, Unicam® 999cc engine, the Pioneer 1000 has plenty of push. Also being the first side-by-side to have a fully automatic 6-speed DCT, the Pioneer 1000 really goes where no other side-by-side has gone before. Taking parts from all around the globe but being built here in the USA, the Pioneer 1000 is the largest of the Pioneer series. Four different configurations to pick from with available features like four-wheel drive, 14-inch aluminum wheels, electric power steering, and many more, allow anyone to find the perfect Pioneer 1000 for them.
